A real person reads every message. Replies usually within one day.
Support, feedback, a suggestion, press, a partnership — one address, read by the people who make the app. If something is not working: what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead. Your phone model and app version help too.
Writing from inside the app — Settings › Help — attaches your phone model, system version and a ticket number, which makes a conversation easier to pick up later.
Common questions
Adding an account
Where is the QR code?
On the website of the service you are protecting, not in this app. Sign in there, open its security or two-step verification settings, and choose an authenticator app; it shows a QR code. Open AssuredAuth, tap the camera, and point it at the code. If the code is on the same phone you are holding, take a screenshot and use From a picture instead.
Where do I type the code?
Into the website or app that asked for it, in the box that appears after your password. AssuredAuth only makes the code; it never asks you to type one. Tap the card to copy it, then paste it there — or let it fill itself in: on iPhone the code is offered above the keyboard, on Android wherever a code is asked for.
The code is not accepted
Nine times in ten the phone's clock is a little off. Codes are worked out from the time, and a clock that is more than a few seconds wrong makes every code wrong. Settings › Help › The code is not accepted has a Check the clock button that compares your phone with a time server and tells you the difference, with a button to the setting that puts it right. If the clock is fine, the service may need the account set up again: turn two-step verification off on its website, then on again, and scan the new code.
I already use Google Authenticator or another app
Bring your codes across in one go. In Google Authenticator: Transfer accounts › Export accounts, which shows a QR code; in AssuredAuth: Settings › Import › Google Authenticator, and point the camera at it. 2FAS and Aegis export a file, which AssuredAuth reads from Settings › Import. A preview says how many accounts were found, and which are already here, before anything is written.
The codes
Why does the code change every thirty seconds?
Because the code is worked out from the time and a key that only your phone and the service hold. A code that is only good for thirty seconds is a code that cannot be reused by somebody who saw it. The ring next to each code shows how long it has left, and the next code is already worked out, so nothing waits.
Do codes work without signal?
Yes. Codes are computed on the phone, and on the watch, from a key stored there; nothing is fetched from anywhere. Airplane mode, a basement, a foreign country with no data plan: the codes are the same.
Can AssuredAuth see my codes or my accounts?
No. The key for every account is stored on your phone, in the system keychain, and the app has no server for it to go to. Crash and usage reports are the only thing the app sends, and they have no way to carry a key, a code, an account name or a password; you can switch them off in Settings › Privacy & data.
Subscriptions
What do I get without paying?
Codes for three accounts, forever, with no account to create. Scanning, pictures and typed keys. Import from Google Authenticator, 2FAS, Aegis and pasted links, and export to a transfer QR, an encrypted file or a file other apps read. Face ID, auto-lock and the clipboard timer. Nothing you add is ever taken away from you, including if a subscription lapses: every code keeps working, and export keeps working, so you can always leave.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are held by the store, so canceling happens there. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → AssuredAuth. On Android: Play Store → your profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions. Settings › Subscription inside the app links straight to the right page. Canceling stops the renewal; Premium keeps working until the period you have paid for ends.
I canceled during the trial. Will I be charged?
No. Cancel before the third day ends and nothing is taken. The app also reminds you the day before a trial ends, so it cannot roll over unnoticed.
I paid and Premium is not showing
Tap “Restore purchases” on the Subscription screen. That asks the store again, which fixes it in nearly every case — a new phone, a reinstall, or a purchase that completed while the app was closed. If it does not, write to us with the store receipt and we will sort it out.
How do I get a refund?
From the store that took the payment, not from us: Apple's refund page for the App Store, and the Play Store's order history on Android. Both answer within a few days. Canceling the subscription is separate, and stopping the renewal does not refund the period already paid.
Your data
I got a new phone
If backup was on, install AssuredAuth on the new phone, sign in to iCloud or Google Drive as before, and every code comes back on its own. If you made a backup file, Settings › Backup › Restore from a file opens it with your passphrase. If you still have the old phone, Settings › Export & transfer › Show transfer QR moves everything in one scan. If none of those, the service you sign in to is the one that can let you back in, through its own account recovery.
How do I delete everything?
Delete the app and everything on the phone goes with it; there is no account on our side to delete. If backup was on, turn it off first in Settings › Backup and the copy in iCloud or Google Drive is removed. A backup file you wrote yourself is yours to delete wherever you kept it. Settings › Privacy & data › Delete everything wipes the app without uninstalling it.
